San Diego Comic-Con 2026: Every Major Announcement You Missed
San Diego Comic-Con 2026 ran from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26 at the San Diego Convention Center, and it delivered one of the most stacked weekends in years — trailers, casting reveals, surprise panels, and a few notable absences. Here's everything that actually mattered.

Marvel Returns to Hall H
After a limited presence last year, Marvel Studios came back to Hall H in a big way. The headline reveal was a new story trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, the Insomniac Games title, opening with a tense confrontation between Logan and Jean Grey. The trailer also introduced some of the game's antagonists, including the Hand and Deathstrike.

On the comics side, Marvel announced new story arcs for Avengers, a new Maximum X-Men series, and twice-monthly shipping for Iron Man. New beginnings were also teased for Mary Jane Watson and Eddie Brock/Venom, plus a new direction for Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium.
DC's Quiet Comic-Con
DC Studios skipped a standalone panel this year, meaning no James Gunn or Peter Safran appearance and no updates on Superman-adjacent projects. The one bright spot: Lanterns, HBO Max's Green Lantern Corps series, still made an appearance at the con. Andor star Adria Arjona, rumored to be playing Wonder Woman in the DCU, also addressed the ongoing speculation in a lighthearted way.
The Rest of the Big Reveals
- Avatar: Seven Havens — a new teaser dropped, with the series premiering October 9 on Paramount+
- The Rings of Power Season 3 got its first showcase
- Blade Runner 2099 was presented to the Comic-Con crowd
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 was officially confirmed
- Panels also touched on My Hero Academia, Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2, Studio Ghibli, and A24's sci-fi film Onslaught

Cosplay Stole the Show
Beyond the panels, SDCC's cosplay scene was as strong as ever, with standout looks from Avatar: The Last Airbender fans dressed as Katara and Zuko among the weekend's most photographed costumes.

Why This Comic-Con Mattered
With Marvel back in full force and DC noticeably scaled down, SDCC 2026 highlighted a shifting balance of power between the two biggest names in the genre — while gaming, anime, and indie film all continued carving out bigger slices of Hall H's spotlight.
